BETHLEHEM, PA – The November 4, 2026 Lambert Cup Poll has a new No. 1 team, and they’re from the CAA.
Monmouth (7-2, 6-0 CAA) was the unanimous No. 1 pick this week, receiving all nine first-place votes after its 34-21 win over Bryant (5-4, 3-2 CAA). Albany (6-3, 4-1 CAA) climbed from fifth to second thanks to its 45-35 victory over Campbell (7-2, 4-1 CAA). Bryant was ranked ninth in the Lambert Cup Poll last week.
The first-place teams in the Ivy League and Patriot League tied for third place in this week’s poll. Harvard (6-1, 3-1 Ivy) lost a Friday night thriller on the road at Dartmouth (4-3, 3-1 Ivy), 24-14, while Lehigh (7-2, 5-1 Patriot League) survived an upset-minded Bucknell Bison (1-8, 0-6 Patriot League) team, 31-30.
Dartmouth re-enters the Lambert Cup Poll this week at No. 7, while Colgate (5-4, 4-2 Patriot League), a 37-0 winner over William & Mary (3-6, 1-5 Patriot League), also re-enters the poll at No. 9.
The defending Lambert Cup holders, Villanova (5-4, 4-2 Patriot League), rose two spots to No. 8 this past Saturday after their 44-21 win over Lafayette (3-5, 2-3 Patriot League).
The 2026 Lambert Cup Committee consists of regional and national FCS Football media members and conference representatives, and is a weekly poll to help determine the winner of the Lambert Cup for the 2026 season. Currently, the cup is on display at Villanova, the recipient of the Lambert Cup in 2026. This season, should the opportunity arise in an FCS Playoff matchup to potentially crown a Lambert Cup champion, the Committee may decide unanimously to award the winning team the Lambert Cup at the conclusion of the contest.
