Mountain Hawks No. 1 In Initial 2025 Lambert Cup Poll

BETHLEHEM, PA – The Lehigh Mountain Hawks were picked No. 1 in the initial Lambert Cup poll of 2025, selected by the Lambert Cup Committee.

The 7-0 Mountain Hawks of the Patriot League are fresh off a bye week after their 31-13 win over Yale two weeks ago.  The undefeated Mountain Hawks sport wins over two teams in the Lambert Cup poll (No. 6 Penn, No. 7 Duquense)  and have also beaten three teams in the “Others Receiving Votes” group (Yale, Richmond, and Sacred Heart).

Second in the poll is surging Monmouth out of the CAA, with Harvard of the Ivy League close behind them.  The 6-1 Hawks have defeated No. 4 Villanova and ORV Delaware State, and are fresh off a 49-21 win over Stony Brook last week.

Overall the Ivy League leads the number of teams in the poll with four (Harvard, Penn, Dartmouth and Brown).

The 2025 Lambert Cup Committee consists of regional and national FCS Football media members and conference representatives.  At least one more poll is scheduled by the end of the regular season to help determine the winner of the Lambert Cup, and should the opportunity arise in an FCS Playoff matchup to potentially crown a Lambert Cup champion, the Committee may decide unanimously to award the winning team the Lambert Cup at the conclusion of the contest.
